Project Engineer Paid Intern
o Provide engineering technical expertise in the form of identification, conceptualization, development, and management for project work associated with package components utilized in the packaging of pharmaceuticals, health care products, and medical devices.
o Manage special project development and design of experiments related to package components and equipment on site or new equipment being investigated for future purchase.
o Coordinate packaging specifications and works with Customer Service representatives, Quality Assurance, procurement and vendors.
o Research, develop, and prepare equipment detailed proposals with estimator for production line estimates inclusive of specifications, cost, project time lines, equipment acceptance protocols, manufacturing process sequences for all potential, new, and revised processes introduced into the business unit.
o Responsible for feasibility studies for new packaging lines and associated equipment including state of the art processes and technology focused on the area of contract packaging and contract manufacturing as per client requests.
o Lead in the development and implementation of new products and processes / equipment while working closely with all involved disciplines to ensure a smooth transition of new products and processes into production in a timely fashion.
o Support projects by contributing to the development/refinement of cost, project schedules, tracking, status reports, team meetings, and management progress reports.
o Prepare Requests for Appropriation (RFA) including project description, overall scope, and schedule and cost justification in conjunction with cross-functional disciplines.
o Investigate component defects with Production, Procurement and vendors.
o Recommend improvements to package component and specification process to reduce labor/cost.
o Solicit, initiate, develop, and manage improvement projects for specific and overall process/quality efficiency enhancements and cost reductions in the contract packaging manufacturing area.
o Responsible to contribute to their team and throughout the company, thereby, reinforcing a team-based cultural environment.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
