Buckeye Partners is currently seeking a Specialist, HSSE Compliance with pipeline health and safety compliance experience to join our growing team!
Depending on the qualifications of the applicants, the successful candidate may be offered a position at a more appropriate level.
Role Summary:
The Specialist, HSSE Compliance role is responsible for implementing health, safety, security and environmental policies and supporting district asset teams and training programs within the assigned district.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include:
Database Management. Managing HSSE regulatory compliance for assigned territory through use of Cintellate HSSE management system, facility auditing, internal resources and external consultants/contractors.Conducting Investigations. Conducting incident investigations (lead RCA for mid-level incident), support corrective action development and track corrective action implementation.Emergency Preparedness Program. Supporting the implementation of Emergency Preparedness program (training, QI notifications, drills, etc.) and responding to emergencies at Company locations.Project Support. Supporting project managers for maintenance and growth projects through review of project to identify HSSE-related requirements (permitting, waste, safety plans, plan updates, etc.) as well as strategy to ensure these requirements are met; support as internal HSSE SME during project implementation.Audits. Assisting asset teams in performing annual safety audits of pipeline and terminal facilities and electrical safety inspections of Technicians and performing active work audits and consulting during hydrostatic pressure tests, pipe repairs and replacements, tank repairs and other pipeline and terminal activities.Training. Presenting district-wide training of new Company programs, such as, Manuals Usage, New Employee Training, Smith Driving, Defensive Driving and Train-the-Trainer sessions and support asset teams in this area as needed.Development and Maintenance of Programs. Assisting with writing and revising System and Local Operating Manuals and maintaining and assisting asset team members in Tank Fire Fighting Action Plans and Emergency Response Plans.And other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Safety or other related discipline.3 - 5+ years' experience within related HSSE fieldExperience in Pipeline Health & Safety Compliance, or related field, is preferredExpertise in the Safety and/or Environmental discipline50% travel
Certificates & Licenses:
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other relevant certifications highly desired.Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM) is highly desired
Other Skills, Attributes and Abilities:
Good written and oral communication skills, presentation skills, and organizational and scheduling skills are essential.
Physical & Safety Requirements:
This position requires participation in the Medical Surveillance Program, DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing, and certification to wear a respirator. Depending on the qualifications of the applicants, the successful candidate may be offered a position at a more appropriate level and/or ladder.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
